Puppy & Beginner Classes
Our elementary training classes are structured to show you how to train your puppy through the use of Kinesthetic techniques (creation of motivated learning in your dog through productive play). It covers classical and operant conditioning, the use of verbal markers for communication and shaping behaviour. Exercises covered include:
- Retrieve & Play
- Sit and Down
- Focus and Leave Commands
- Recall from Distractions
- Walking Without Pulling
- Compliant to Inspection & Grooming
- Social Manners around Other People & Dogs
It is vital that training for your puppy continues until they are a young adult. It is not possible to do this within a six week training program. It is recommended you attend several courses before moving your puppy on to our companion dog training class.
To prevent the development of unwanted behaviours, puppies should begin training as soon as possible. Puppies can join after their first innoculation and up to nine months of age. Please note that fees are cash only and is non-refundable or transferable to another course.

This is a mixed ability class to which puppies progress to and adults can practise perfecting skills learnt. When your dog reaches maintenance level you will be credited with the perfect companion dog!
